As early as 1856, the pioneering spirit, explorer and hedonist, Adam Henkell, created what was, at the time, a completely new composition made from French Cuvée and German craftsmanship: Henkell Trocken – one of the most well-known brands of sparkling wine there is. Today, the Henkell & Co. Sektkellerei is represented in 20 countries with its own subsidiaries, and exports to over 100 countries worldwide
If you visit the Sektkellerei in Wiesbaden-Biebrich, you are guaranteed to have goosebumps and wide eyes: A long staircase with 50 steps leads directly to the seven-storey-high wine cellar. Here, the wines wait, in barrels more than 200 000 litres in capacity, for their composition to Cuvée. Various exciting tours enable to you take a look behind the scenes of the international company. A stop at the sparkling wine manufactory which opened in mid-2017 is also just as worthwhile as a visit to the Henkell shop. Here, you can also take away special sparkling wine delicacies from the best cultivation regions.
It is open Tuesday to Friday from 11am to 7pm, and Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
