As a piece of trivia, cream of tartar is the name given to the salts in tartaric acid. You can identify it during the storage of wine or grape juice, where it crystallises and settles mainly at the bottom of the bottle. But do not fear, we’re not talking about a lower quality here. In the case of sparkling wine, it is possible to avoid cream of tartar by means of a special process.
